The quality Nain rugs are measured in the number of layer of treads that have been used in every wrap thread at the manufacturing of the carpet.  12 La, 9 La, 6 La and 4 La, La means layer in Persian. The lower the number is, the high quality become and expensive the rugs. 9 La is good quality while the 4 La the best. The Nain Rugs are known for its intricate floral design on a very light Ivory with light and deep blue background and a medallion in the center. It is very hard to find all over and red background. The Nain rugs usually don’t use a lot of color.  Habibian one of the most famous weavers and finest design is recognized in Nain rugs. Habibian signature, when authenticated, usually double of a fine Nain.
